MOBILE PLANT OPERATIVE

Salary: Competitive                      Hours: 47.5 hours per week

Description:

We are seeking a self-motivated and professional individual for the position of Mobile Plant Operative (Loading Shovel/Dumper).  The role is full time, working a 47.5 hour week with occasional Saturday mornings when necessary. Working hours will be Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 5.00pm however there may be a need to work flexibly at times in order to meet the demands of the business.

Working in a small team reporting to the Quarry Manager, the post holder will be responsible for operating and ensuring the smooth running of the loading of materials in order to fulfil customer and quality assurance requirements in the supply of high quality aggregates. The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring that all legal obligations required by relevant acts or bodies are adhered to.

On a daily basis the post holder will load customer heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) and company stock dumpers, monitor stock piles and working areas and ensure vehicle maintenance duties are carried out. When not loading vehicles, the post holder will provide relief driver cover on the rigid and articulated dumpers. Due to the requirements of the role, it is preferential that applicants hold appropriate Plant Driving Licences as well as a full, clean Driving Licence however full training will be provided. Experience within the quarry industry would be a distinct advantage.

Excellent communication and logistical skills with an eye for detail are all crucial for this role. The “right first time” attitude is essential in this fast moving environment as is the adherence to legal requirements. Basic numeracy skills are essential in this role but training will be given in all other aspects.

WEIGHBRIDGE OPERATIVES

Salary: Circa 20K per annum        Hours: Full & Part Time Vacancies

Description:

We are looking to recruit Weighbridge Operators to join our close-knit team. Your duties will include assisting with the smooth running of our delivery programmes and ensuring that vehicle weights are correct. With excellent communication skills, you will liaise with our sales team to ensure you are aware of changes to scheduled loads – making sure our customers receive their products on time. You will also deal directly with our collection customers, engaging with both internal and external stakeholders. You’ll be compliance focused and keen to ensure all legal obligations are adhered to.

You will be customer focused, methodical, highly organised, and detail conscious. You will be able to liaise effectively with customers and colleagues. Good PC skills and an ability to use internal systems are essential. Experience within a quarry or logistics environment is preferred, but full training will be given.

For the full time vacancy, you will be required to work on a rotating shift pattern (Mon-Fri: 0430 – 1300/0600 – 1430, plus every third Saturday morning). The part time position is for 25 hours per week (Mon-Fri: 0600-1100). We require flexibility in this role and as such, you may be required to provide support outside of your normal working hours.

SALES CO-ORDINATOR

Salary: Circa 20K per annum         Hours: Full Time

Description:

Working within our Sales Office at Moons Hill Quarry, you will be produce sales quotations and take/process telephone orders. Dealing with customers on a daily basis, you will have an excellent telephone manner, great customer service skills and an ability to build good relationships.

You will be PC literate and confident using MS Office and internal databases. Responsible for accurately recording data on our systems, you will be detail conscious, methodical and have a right first time approach.

We are looking for somebody who has a calm and measured approach and can work well under pressure. You will also need to be a team player, with a flexible attitude to work.

MOBILE PLANT FITTER

Moons Hill Quarry

Description:

John Wainwright and Company Ltd has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to join our busy workshop team at Moons Hill Quarry, Stoke St Michael.

If you’re an adaptable self-starter who’s able to deal with the unexpected, you may be just the person we need.

No two days are the same in our workshop. As well as dealing with routine servicing and maintenance, you’ll respond to breakdowns, promptly diagnose problems and carry out required repairs in a timely manner. Your principal aim will be to minimise plant downtime, so you’ll need to work efficiently and accurately, while staying calm under pressure.

We are looking for a practical, hands on individual with a strong mechanical aptitude. To succeed in this role, you’ll be hard working, with a first-rate understanding of heavy mobile plant machinery and site vehicles. An NVQ in Plant Maintenance or equivalent experience is crucial, as is a full clean driving licence.

We’re offering a full-time role involving 47.5 hours per week generally starting from 6.00am, including some weekend working.
