Last week, the team at John Wainwright & Co. Ltd came together at our Moons Hill Head Office to celebrate a remarkable milestone – 135 years of quarrying.

Our anniversary BBQ was a fantastic opportunity to thank our incredible team for their hard work, dedication, and commitment, while bringing colleagues together from across the business to celebrate everything we’ve achieved over the past 135 years.

Alongside the celebrations, we were proud to have our latest fleet on display, including the newest addition to our family; our brand-new Concrete Mixer Lorry, which will be serving our brand-new concrete plant at Marchwood. We also welcomed two new fleet members to our Contracting Division, showcasing our continued investment in our people, equipment, and the future of the business.

Colleagues enjoyed a delicious BBQ, followed by locally made ice cream from Palette & Pasture, which was the perfect treat in the sunshine. There was also plenty of fun to be had, with activities including Play Your Cards Right, Tin Can Alley, and Mini Crazy Golf, bringing out everyone’s competitive spirit and adding to the fantastic atmosphere.

With great food, plenty of conversation, commemorative gift bags and (thankfully!) sunshine, it was a memorable afternoon reflecting on our proud heritage while looking ahead to an exciting future.
