Chairman, Peter Barkwill

Non- Executive Director

After starting his career with Aggetts Ltd in Devon then moving to Powell Duffryn (later ARC) in Wales, Peter joined Wainwright as Quarry Manager in 1986.

He was named as the company’s Managing Director in 1997 and has presided over 25 years of unprecedented growth in turnover, profit and output.

Peter is a well-known figure in the industry and beyond. His values-driven approach has shaped Wainwright to be the company you see today.

Tom Longland

Chief Executive Officer

Tom took up his role in April 2023. He brings a wealth of experience in the extractives sector, including 19 years in a variety of management roles with Aggregate Industries, and four years as Managing Director of Brett Aggregates.

With an MBA from Loughborough University and a geology degree from Leeds, Tom is well-placed to lead Wainwright into the future. He believes sustainability, Health and Safety and delivering first-rate customer service are core to the company’s ongoing success.

Brian Rexworthy

Finance Director

Brian joined Wainwright in 2007 as Financial Controller, and progressed to his current role in 2010. He sits on the Board of Directors and oversees all aspects of the company’s financial management, working with a small team at our Moons Hills Headquarters.

Prior to joining Wainwright, Brian worked at Denholm Agency Holdings in Bristol and Nisbets, a catering company based in Avonmouth.

Lee Seviour

Contracting and Executive Director

Lee spent six years at Wainwright as a Surfacing Supervisor in the first phase of his career, eventually leaving in 2009 to work for Atkins then Skanska UK.

He returned in 2016, initially to the role of Surfacing General Manager – a decision that he says was motivated by his commitment to Wainwright’s values-driven approach to business. He was promoted to Contracting Director in 2018 and to Executive Board Director in 2024.
