Clare Vigus, Field Sales Manager

I knew of Wainwright for a long time before joining in 2019 and always thought it seemed friendly, professional and ambitious. It’s more than lived up to that reputation.

I’m responsible for building our customer base around the region, ensuring that we deliver the right products at the right time. I love representing Wainwright and developing relationships with our clients.

Despite a long career in the industry, I don’t think I’ve ever worked in such a busy sales environment. The team here have real skill and dedication. They know their stuff, and are committed to building Wainwright’s brand and working in line with our values.

It’s great that we supply a mix of high-profile accounts, including National Highways and local authorities, as well as independent operators. Whoever we’re dealing with, we always try to deliver the very best quality and service. That’s always been the Wainwright way.

We’re also committed to sustainability, which is something I care about deeply. I’m proud that Wainwright is pursuing a green agenda – that’s always been very important to me.

I feel lucky to be a part of Wainwright’s team. We pull together and have a strong family ethos. We’re not afraid to embrace the future, but take real pride in the company’s long history. It’s a great place to be.

After 30 years of working in the asphalt industry, thought it was time I acquired a qualification, which with the support and belief on the Directors and all of my colleagues at Wainwrights, I manged to obtain A Derby University Diploma in Asphalt Technology & Pavement Solutions.

Outside of work I love spending time with friends, I am very lucky to have a large group of special and supportive people in my life. I am renowned for my home-made curries, my record is cooking 5 different types in one sitting.

Alongside this, my dogs Pip and Pru keep me active, so active in fact they have to have trackers on their collars as one time they went missing in the woods for 28 hours (naughty pups). And at least once a year I go to see Wales play rugby at the Millennium Stadium preferably against my second favourite team the All Blacks.
