Contracting Director Lee Seviour earns place on Wainwright’s Board

Wainwright’s Contracting Director Lee Seviour has been awarded a place on our Board as an Executive Director.

Lee has overseen a period of sustained growth in our Contracting Division since re-joining the company in 2016. He worked for Wainwright near the start of his career, serving as a Surfacing Supervisor between 2004 and 2009 before moving to Atkins and Skanska UK, where he held management positions.

Returning to Wainwright in 2016 as Surfacing General Manager, Lee has helped the business secure high-profile contracts for local authorities. The most recent of these was the £14m, four-year, resurfacing and civils contract with North Somerset Council that we signed in March 2024.

Lee was made Contracting Director in 2018 and recently underwent a rigorous selection process to earn his place on the Board. He was commended by the interview panel for his vision and enthusiasm for Wainwright, and his strategic insight about the wider industry.

“I’m delighted to welcome Lee to Wainwright’s Board as an Executive Director,” said Philip Percival, Wainwright’s Chairman. “He brings a tangible passion for the business and a clear sense of how we can pursue sustainable growth, as well as a strong track record of success in the sector.”

Speaking about his appointment, Lee said: “It’s a real privilege to be an Executive Director of Wainwright. I am proud to work for a company with such a strong heritage and a clear sense of what it stands for. I look forward to working with my fellow directors to help shape its future.”

Lee’s Board membership starts with immediate effect. He continues in his day-to-day role as Contracting Director.
