Wainwright’s apprenticeship investment recognised by The 5% Club

John Wainwright and Company Ltd has been awarded Silver membership of The 5% Club after an audit of its “earn-and-learn” provision for employees.

The scheme recognises an employer’s support of staff through apprenticeships, graduate schemes and student placements. To achieve Silver status, an employer must take positive action to deliver inclusive and accessible workplace training for all staff.

Accreditation by The 5% Club involves validation of existing activity, as well as an evaluation of plans and future commitments. It also assesses the employer’s approach to social mobility, diversity and inclusion.

“We’re delighted to have attained a Silver Award from The 5% Club,” says Lisa Saunders, Wainwright’s People and Culture Director. “It’s a reflection of our investment in apprenticeship programmes, which we use to attract, retain and skill-up our people.”

Mark Cameron OBE, Chief Executive of The 5% Club, said: “Our Employer Audit Scheme recognises the efforts of employers who invest in their workforce through a broad range of workplace learning schemes. It is fantastic that in these challenging times so many commit to the Employer Audit and gain credit for their efforts, and that the majority are striving to expand their schemes. Their efforts and achievements are to be applauded.”
